EMD GP35-3  (14 units)

100 Former WE 2666, originally NS/SOU 2666. Sold by NS to Great Western Leasing and leased to W&LE. Sold to CIT Financial in 1999 and leased back by the W&LE. Unit had been stored due to a major electrical fire that occurred in 12/97. Rebuilt by W&LE during the first 6 months of 2000. Repainted in July of 2000 into the current W&LE black and orange scheme. First GP35 to wear black and orange. Unit has high short hood with Alco trucks. Unit has the name Lynn R Shook painted on the cab side under the unit number in memory of the late Brewster Shop Foreman. Unit was rebuilt by W&LE with microprocessor control system and has Canac Controltac LT remote control system.

Unit was ordered by Pittsburgh & West Virginia and would have been P&WV 101, but was delivered to N&W following merger as N&W 1301.  Sold by NS to Transdynamic Leasing as TDIX 1301 and leased to W&LE. Later bought by W&LE and rebuilt with microprocessor control system as WE 1301 in 1997. Sold to CIT Financial in 1999 and leased by the W&LE. Unit is low hood with EMD trucks and is painted black and orange with P&WV in large orange letters. Unit was renumbered to WE 101 in January 2001 and was painted in the black and orange commemorative P&WV scheme in October 2001. Equipped with Canac Controltac LT remote control system.

102 Former WE/NS/SOU (CG/S&A) 2713. Sold by NS to Great Western Leasing and leased to W&LE. Sold to CIT Financial in 1999 and leased back by the W&LE. Unit was rebuilt with microprocessor control system and outshopped in December of 2000. Locomotive was repainted in black and orange, but has a large Operation Lifesaver® logo on each side of the long hood in white. Unit has high short hood with Alco trucks and is equipped with Canac Controltac LT remote control system.

Painted in solid NS black and lettered with yellow W&LE on the hood. Unit has high short hood with Alco trucks. Unit Was rebuilt by W&LE with microprocessor control system in 1997.  Canac Controltac LT remote control system installed, unit was renumbered and short hood and cab paint were touched up with black in mid-2004.

109 Former WE/NS/SOU (CG/S&A) 2708. Sold by NS to Great Western Leasing and leased by W&LE. Sold to CIT Financial in 1999 and leased by the W&LE. Rebuilt by W&LE with microprocessor control system and repainted into latest black and orange scheme in April 2007. Unit has chopped low short hood with Alco trucks and is equipped with a ZTR "SmartStart" system.  Locomotive is named in memory of Robert S. Bixler, a founding member and driving force behind the Orrville Railway Heritage Society.

200 Former WE/NS/SOU (CG/S&A) 2706.  Originally leased by NS to W&LE, but later purchased by W&LE. Sold to CIT Financial in 1999 and leased by the W&LE. Unit has high short hood with Alco trucks. Unit was rebuilt by W&LE with microprocessor  control system in 1995.  Unit was renumbered WE 200 and repainted in special Ohio bicentennial scheme in March 2003.

2662 Former NS/SOU 2662. Originally leased by NS to W&LE, but purchased by W&LE in October 1992. Sold to CIT Financial in 1999 and leased by the W&LE. Painted bright red with yellow stripes and red gothic WLE letters and numbers. Unit was rebuilt by W&LE with microprocessor  control system in 1997. Unit has high short hood with Alco trucks and is equipped with Canac Controltac LT remote control system.

Former GP40 UP 652/C&NW 5532/CR/PC/NYC 3044. Purchased by W&LE from Larry's Truck & Electric in October 2002. Rebuilt by W&LE with Q-Tron excitation control system and equipped with Canac Controltac LT remote control system in August 2003. Unit arrived in standard UP yellow/gray, but the entire area between the top and bottom red stripes was repainted in black by the W&LE with white road numbers on the cab sides.

301 Former GP40 WE 3142/D&RGW 3142/CR/PC 3153. Sold to W&LE by Union Pacific in December 2001. Unit retains its D&RGW black and orange paint and letteringRebuilt by W&LE with Q-Tron excitation control system and equipped with Canac Controltac LT remote control system in August 2004.  Unit was renumbered when rebuilt and D&RGW lettering was touched up.

4602 Former GTW 4602. Unit was originally built as GTW GP9 4547in March 1957 and rebuilt to GPR9 standards by GTW in May of 1989.  Unit retains its former GTW blue and orange paint. Unit is equipped for radio control operation.

4000 Former CN/GTW 5920. Unit purchased by W&LE from CN in July 2003.  Unit retains its CN red, white and black paint, with new roadnumber painted in white on the cab side and long hood end.

6315 Former Wisconsin Central 6002/Algoma Central 183.  Acquired by W&LE from LTEX in January 2008.  Unit is painted in WC maroon and gold with black Wheeling & Lake Erie lettering on the long hood and black numbers on the cab sides.  Unit is equipped with dynamic braking.
6316 Former Wisconsin Central 6003/Algoma Central 185.  Acquired by W&LE from LTEX in January 2008.  Unit is painted in WC maroon and gold with black Wheeling & Lake Erie lettering on the long hood and black numbers on the cab sides.  Unit is equipped with dynamic braking.

1501 Former ABB 1501/CR 9602/Indianapolis Union 24. A&BB became W&LE subsidiary Akron Barberton Cluster Railway in late 1994. Unit is equipped for remote control operation. Rebuilt at Brewster with Q-Tron traction control system and repainted black and orange with ABC Railway lettering November 2000.
